Coming back from dinner last night I saw a new TD Bank Billboard. At first it didn’t catch my attention, but then again, it wasn’t supposed to.
"Canadians in Florida can find a TD Bank as easily as they can find a beach."
Someone in their Marketing Department is smart. I’m not their target market, but clearly Canadians are (and better yet, Canadians vacationing in Florida). And that marketing message spoke directly to them.
Niche marketing, that’s what true marketing is about. You don’t need to appeal to the masses because, frankly, you do not care. You only want to engage your TARGET market and they did just that.
Well done TD Bank, normally I find billboard messages ridiculous.
I’m off to the beach to enjoy a mini-vaca with hubby!
