One of the biggest questions I have been getting lately is “How do I get my thumbnail picture to appear next to my search engine result?”
Step 1: First your website must use a piece of code (re=”author”) that points to your Google+ profile.

Insert the following link into the head section of your websites code:
Step 2: Within your Google+ account there is a section that says “Contributor to” (You can check out my Google+ account and see it in the profile section). Edit your profile and locate the “Contributor to” section and type in the name and URL of your website.
Step 3: Confirm it’s working by using this tool: rich snippet testing tool. (It doesn’t happen automatically, so you will need to check back).
It’s pretty easy, but you do have to make sure you do all the steps!
