So I thought about doing something clever for April fools… But, I quickly realized that my creative juices have been used up for the week and I came up with nothing… so no April fools jokes here- however… if you think about it Google’s +1 might have been an April fools joke released two days early…

What is Google’s +1- well it’s Google’s attempt to make search results more relevant.

You can read more here ==> Google’s +1

First of all, the name is dumb… but even once I get past that- and although it’s not completely fully function yet- the tests that I ran yesterday don’t excite me.

The REAL problem I see here is if my network is going to influence me because I see that a good friend of mine “+1ed” something the only way I am going to see that is IF I am logged into Google and IF I can connected to them via Google. Right now I only have 7 contacts according to Google… clearly I have a log way to go. But am I the only one? I don’t think so- we are connecting on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social sites- but not Google. Google’s buzz was a flop and unless they bring in your social circle from other social media sites, I’m not sure how much of an impact this will have (yes, they are talking about bringing in Twitter now… but even then, I think it’s Facebook you have to go after and I don’t think that will happen). So we shall see, but at the moment- I’m not excited or worried.

Next week expect your alerts to be a whole lot wiser as I turn a year older on Monday…. Ok, so they won’t be, but I hope you enjoy them just the same! :)

Have a great weekend and enjoy this week’s alerts!

6 Tips for Creating Valuable Branded Content

“The rise of search and social marketing has not changed this basic truth about the way that the web works. When people link to you, they’re linking to your content. When they share via social networks, they’re sharing your content. It means that great content should be just as important to marketers as it is to the people using the Internet to talk, learn and buy. It turns out that content is still king.” …Amen.

“The online world is a great place to make money and gain notoriety but it can be a tremendous waste of resources if you don’t have the right team working with you. When my previous consulting company was charging me outrageous prices and failing to deliver time and time again, I turned to Celebrity Sites®. Since then my online campaigns have turned around 180 degrees! Its great having Celebrity Sites® on my team, helping me grow my business and my profits. Don’t wait until its too late, call them today. Trust me, you can’t afford to wait!” - Chris Hurn, President & CEO, Mercantile Capital Corporation®

“Thanks a lot for such a good work. Probably for you it was something that you just do all the time, but after I had so many unfortunate dealings with three of your predecessors and never felt quite satisfied, I can really appreciate and thank you for what you are doing with my new site.” -Jose Gomez

elly“Thank you very much for my website!  I am so pleased with it. Within the first day of it being live I have received business & not through referrals. This is a huge difference! Kind regards, gratitude and appreciation for what you do!” -Elly

Like any vehicle, it will run smoothly if and only if 1) the right fuel is used, 2) you make it a priority to maintain it, 3) and you have a great mechanic! As a business owner, having your team in place is critical to success. I was happy with my original website; giving birth to it was a process. But after a while, as it grows so do your needs. You change or your brand changes. It was not a coincidence that I met Lindsay Dicks from Celebrity Sites; it was time…call it synchronicity at work. I had been rethinking my website and needed to delegate more of what I was choosing not to do regarding social media and web maintenance. I have never been so impressed by their professionalism, dedication or follow-through. They are there at a moments notice to work through my questions, my ideas or concerns. I give them straight A pluses. They have me for LIFE. - Sallie Felton, Life Coach/Transition Specialist, International Talk Radio Host #1 Best Selling Author, IF I’M SO SMART, WHY CAN’T I GET RID OF THIS CLUTTER?

“It’s always scary changing your website even when you know you need an update. Lots of times you feel like you are on an island and the people developing your website could care less if they respond to your concerns or not. Not only did Lindsay and her staff stay in constant contact with me through the entire process, they responded immediately to each question, and improved on my own ideas for the site. They thought of things that I would have never considered and have also taken my haphazard social media postings and formed a consistent strategy that is sure to blow the doors off anything I have done before. I feel like I have gotten many times over my money’s worth already. Thanks Lindsay and team!” -Dr. Chris Griffin, Ripley, MS, The Capacity Academy
